What Women Actually Want From Their Clothing

Reflections on intimate wear, comfort, and designing for the real female body.

There is a different kind of question I’ve started asking inside the store.

Not “What size are you?”
Not “What are you looking for?”

But something much simpler.

What do you wish existed?

Not what brands are currently offering.
Not what you think you are supposed to wear.

But what you actually want from your clothing.

Inside our Evanston store, these conversations have become one of the most important parts of building Bella Otér.

Women talk about fabrics they wish felt softer on their skin. Intimate wear that supports the body without restricting it. Lingerie that feels beautiful without feeling performative. Loungewear that still carries intention.

At the core of it, what women are describing is not just clothing.

They are describing how they want to feel in their bodies.

Comfortable. Supported. Expressive. At ease.

These conversations are shaping something much bigger.

As Bella Otér grows, we are developing a broader vision called Otér Living. A space where women can explore the connection between clothing, body awareness, and self-expression.

Part of that vision includes creating a future line of intimate wear and loungewear designed around real experiences of the female body, not idealized versions of it.

But before that happens, listening matters most.

Because the future of women’s clothing should not be built on trends. It should be built on how women actually live in their bodies.

If this resonates, I’d love to hear your perspective.

We are currently speaking with a small group of women as we develop future Bella Otér pieces.

If you want to be part of shaping a new approach to intimate wear, we’d love to hear from you. Click here to fill out the form.
